Summary

The Adult Clinical Psychologist provides primary care and behavioral health services across the adult lifespan to diverse individuals and families. As a behavioral health consultant (BHC), the primary care psychologist: (i) works effectively on primary care teams providing behavioral health consultations, care coordination, and consultations to the medical staff; (ii) delivers short-term, evidence-based interventions; (iii) effectively uses screening and outcome tools; (iv) ensures excellent and timely clinical documentation within an electronic health record; (v) is familiar with team-based care, the patient-centered medical home model, trauma-informed care, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations SAMHSAs levels of healthcare integration; and (vi) has foundational cultural competency and works from a frame of cultural humility. The position is fully integrated within the primary care practice site.

Requirements

Education:

Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an American Psychological Association (APA) approved training program.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in an integrative behavioral health/primary care setting.

Licensure:

Must have and maintain an active license to practice independently as a clinical psychologist in the State of Florida. Must be eligible for credentialing by Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party payers.

Other:

  • Emphasis in health psychology.
  • Experience with health coaching, working in primary care or other medical settings.
  • Ability to collaborate and be an effective team member.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage competing demands well, and complete clinical documentation promptly.
  • Must meet credentialing requirements as established by the Lee Health Medical Staff Services Department. Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards.
