* Support our project management staff with estimating operations and

* Collaborate on short and long-term company goals.

Familiarity with Deltek/CE and Accubid Pro16 (or Pro11) software and knowledge of AutoCad a plus!

Summary: Responsible for producing competitively estimated projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Participates in NSI goal achievement by developing and cultivating project/customer leads, reads and understands plans and specs of selected jobs,
  • Prepares preliminary scope of work for review by manager, prepares pre-bid survey to ensure completeness of estimate,
  • Does unit takeoffs, gathers and compiles data for use in conceptual & firm bid estimates, maintains current accurate pricing information from electronic pricing services, & suppliers, solicits quotes from vendors and subcontractors,
  • Prepares material vendor and subcontractor price sheets, meets with manager to review complete take off for pricing,
  • Advises manager on labor rates, production rates and material discounts used in bid, assists in preparing project budget,
  • Prepares change order estimates where appropriate,
  • Utilizes computer software to its optimum effectiveness for bidding preparation,
  • Meets and maintains relationships with selected general contractors, vendors, and subs.



Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with:


  • Microsoft Office Tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Adobe (PDF files and viewers)
  • Internet software
  • Familiarity with Accubid Pro 16 (or Pro 11).
  • Familiarity with accounting software Deltek/CE, or comparable is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad is a plus.
