HOSPITAL - INPATIENT SERVICES JOB TITLE: CLINICAL PHARMACY MANAGER DEPARTMENT: PHARMACY This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCH Personnel Rules. Job Summary Non-Union The Clinical Pharmacy Manager (Manager) has operational and budgetary responsibility for area of assignment, under administrative direction. The Manager has responsibility for all clinical personnel assigned to the Clinical Pharmacy Division of the Department of Pharmacy to include hiring, evaluation, assignment, and disciplinary procedures. The Manager has responsibility for development and implementation of policies and procedures for the area of assignment. Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to by delivering clinically oriented pharmacy services. These responsibilities include patient's education and counseling of medications, performing medication histories, and ensuring optimum patient outcomes of therapy; In addition, provide training and teaching to new medical residents, medical students, and ancillary professional staffs: i.e., dieticians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and others. Supervises all activities of the staff as well as set goals and objectives for the division. General Administrative Responsibilities Collective Bargaining Discipline Supervision Management *Consistently use independent judgment to identify operational staffing issues and needs and perform the following functions as necessary; hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, direct or discipline employees pursuant to applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements Typical Duties *Coordinates the staffing and assignments of medication assistance program team members and clinical pharmacists scheduled in the ambulatory clinics and inpatient services. Minimum Qualifications *Graduation from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education or equivalent, is required. (Must provide Official Transcripts at time of Interview). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics *Must possess knowledge of supervisory styles or philosophies of management and the application thereof.
