Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, table, and figures;
  • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and implementation of contaminated site cleanup remedies;
  • Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
  • Task and project management duties.
  • Fieldwork: Usually about 70% but could be more (typically outdoors and/or in industrial settings)
  • Overnight travel: Usually about 20% but could be more


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Engineer or Geologist in Training (EIT or GIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous internship or work experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Prior experience with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's rules, processes, etc. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software, AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred)
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Prior experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental site assessments. (valuable)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
