We are looking to grow our team and fill the position of Manufacturing Department Manager. The Manufacturing Department Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of managing people and processes related to an assigned area.

Specific responsibilities include:



  • Provide leadership and direction to all team members to facilitate employee engagement and effective resources to support the successful job performance of all employees. Promote and support positive teamwork and achievement of department goals. Maintain accountability within the department.
  • Maintain effective safety, housekeeping and accident control procedures in accordance with the plant's established safety program.
  • Implement, maintain and monitor quality awareness procedures to maintain established quality standards in line with established standards and customer requirements.
  • Establish processes and controls that support efficient operations and on time delivery of product to customers.
  • Effectively manager labor, waste and supply costs in line with expected standards.
  • Select and develop talent within the operation. Oversee effective training and development of all team members to ensure proper job techniques and development of job related skills.
  • Consistent and fair application of employment and job policies.
  • Participate in the interviewing and selection of qualified new employees.
  • Maintain employee time records, attendance and disciplinary records.
  • Ensure proper maintenance schedules are in place for optimum operation of equipment.


The position requires working within a manufacturing operation to include physical movement throughout the workday and continuous walking on concrete and wood floors. Must be available to work according to manufacturing production schedule which can include Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications:



  • Associates or Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Prior experience in textile manufacturing especially helpful.
  • Demonstrated leadership and track record of developing and managing highly effective teams.
  • Ability to work across all levels of team members from hourly to senior management.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Team player with an innovative approach and desire to continuously improve operations; prior experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement operations a plus.
