GI Physician Carson Valley Medical Center - Minden/Gardnerville

As a general, clinical gastroenterologist, employee will provide clinical services to persons who present with diseases of the digestive system and manage complex digestive conditions. The position requires the ability to admit, work up, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to adult patients with conditions and diseases of the digestive system. Position require completion of a clinical gastroenterology fellowship or meet previous experience requirements.

The incumbent obtains history, examines, diagnoses, counsels, and treats patients within the physician's area of specialty and experience. The incumbent makes critical decisions regarding medical care. The incumbent works closely and in cooperation with the management staff, directs comments and questions to the appropriate management person and follows administrative policies. The incumbent actively participates in physician governance meetings, management decisions, and follows policies adopted by Renown Health and Carson Valley Medical Center and its medical staff. The incumbent stays abreast of current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending in-services and educational meetings, and attending continuing medical education programs in the appropriate field.

2. Capable of operating business units in conformance with good quality and business practices as may be outlined by agencies such as The Joint Commission, NCQA, MGMA, etc.

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in medical specialty.

Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Medical Doctor license. Current and valid Nevada Medical License required.

Certification(s):

Medical staff privileges at Carson Valley Medical Center. Current BLS and ACLS certification by The American Heart Association standards.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
