Academic Geriatrician, Asst/Assoc Prof of Clinical Medicine Academic Geriatrician, Asst/Assoc Prof of Clinical Medicine (Search extended through 3/6/2025) Hiring Department: UICOMP-Medicine Location: Peoria, IL USA Requisition ID: 1023727 Posting Close Date: 3/6/2025 Budgeted Salary Range: $240,000 to $300,000 per year The Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP), located in a mid-size metropolitan area, seeks an academic geriatrician to assist the department teach medical students and residents in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Diseases. Other duties include assisting the department: provide clinical patient care in Geriatrics Internal Medicine in the hospital and clinics; provide Grand Rounds and lectures; assist with curriculum development; participate in clinical medical science research; and perform administrative duties and University service as assigned. UICOMP is one of the three regional campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, one of the largest public medical schools in the country. UICOMP's educational programs include 244 medical students and 300 residents/fellows in 21 different post graduate programs. The Department of Medicine's faculty teach at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, a tertiary care facility serving a 37 county region with a population of over 2 million people. A joint venture between UICOMP and OSF, the Jump Trading Simulation Education Center is a world-class facility with over 40,000 square feet of space which provides the highest level of clinical education, medical research, and training https://www.jumpsimulation.org. Requirements for the title of Asst/Assoc/Prof of Clinical Medicine are an MD/DO degree or its foreign equivalent, plus 3 years of training (3 years in an Internal Medicine residency program), eligible for medical licensure in Illinois, and board certification or eligibility for certification in Internal Medicine. Travel may be periodically required between healthcare facilities or for professional development.
