Position Description Summary:
The Department of Health, Human Function, and Rehabilitation Sciences at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences welcomes applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank. The Physical Therapy program is located in a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Washington, D.C. The university is a Research I institution, provides a dynamic academic environment, and fosters strong collaborative and interprofessional efforts within the university and beyond. The program is housed in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Health, Human Function and Rehabilitation Sciences, and supports post-professional residency programs in Orthopedics, Neurology, and Pediatrics with clinical partners, and its full-time faculty are nationally and internationally recognized in the profession.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be an integral member of a collaborative faculty focused on advancing our mission and strategies across the educational spectrum. Teaching responsibilities include physical therapy management of musculoskeletal disorders and related content. The candidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda that aligns with department goals. A record of, or emerging potential for, generating grants and contributing to the evidence to support clinical, educational, or health service research is expected. Faculty are also expected to engage in program, university, community, and professional service, and mentor students and post-professional residents in collaboration with clinical partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a physical therapy degree and a terminal academic degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSci, DHSci) at the time of appointment; be eligible for physical therapist licensure in Washington, DC; and demonstrate evidence of teaching, mentoring, and advising DPT students.
Advertised Salary: $105,000 - $140,000
