Hitachi Energy is excited to welcome aSenior R&D Engineer - HV Componentsto our newly established North America Regional Technology Center in Alamo, TN. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in high-voltage transformer components, contributing to the development of new products and enhancing existing ones to meet IEEE standards.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead development projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline goals.
  • Design and simulate new high-voltage products and technologies.
  • Coordinate prototyping and testing to validate performance and reliability.
  • Share R&D insights with production teams locally and globally.
  • Provide technical expertise across departments including product management and sales.
  • Participate in international standardization efforts and stay ahead of market trends.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives using lean and six-sigma methodologies.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's/PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally in HV insulation or protection equipment.
  • Strong project leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD (e.g., Creo), simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, COMSOL), and PLM systems.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to Alamo, TN if not local.
