We are looking for instructors who can teach generally a survey of African diaspora courses, not limited to courses in Africa and the Middle East, music, religion, history, and cultural studies. Lecturer appointments are part-time and made on a quarter-by-quarter basis as dictated by instructional needs and budget constraints of the department. Quarter academic appointment dates are as follows: Fall: October 1-December 31st, 2024 Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load. See Table 15 Unit 18 Faculty Pre-Six - AY (ucop.edu) for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $68,247 - $83,936. We are particularly interested in candidates who are working transnationally, including on Africa and diaspora, and whose scholarship and engagements are interdisciplinary.
