What do you do all day?

At NMSI, our people mean everything to us. They are the lifeblood of the organization. Without our staff, NMSI is just an idea. The Director of Marketing is responsible for overseeing the organizational marketing strategy and leading the design, development, coordination and implementation of NMSI's marketing communications.

This role reports to the VP of Public Affairs and is a regular full-time position that can be performed from anywhere in the contiguous United States. Occasional travel is required for in-person meetings and conferences.

What are the details?




  • Support the Vice President of Public Affairs in the design, development, coordination and implementation of brand awareness and program and services marketing.





  • Develop, and evaluate annual marketing strategies and plans, based on knowledge of organizational objectives, market characteristics, internal team needs, and budgetary factors.





  • Work closely with internal teams to develop and deploy marketing strategies that serve business objectives. Oversee general support to various business units for branding and marketing needs.





  • Overseeing marketing operations team members responsible for various segments or projects (e.g., content marketing, program marketing, website, search engine optimization, advertising, email, branding, campaigns, PR, social media)





  • Measure and report on channel, program and campaign effectiveness quarterly and annually in accordance with organizational measures of success.





  • Managing the marketing budget quarterly and annually.





  • Serve as an engaged member of the NMSI Management Team





  • Empower direct reports to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback





  • Work well under pressure, flexibility, and meet deadlines.





  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff





  • Other duties as assigned





Qualifications

What are we looking for?




  • Education & Experience - You have at least five years of relevant experience in professional marketing experience. Ideally, you will have experience in leading and supervising a team.





  • Marketing Expert: You have expert knowledge in the latest digital marketing strategies and social media technology and channels. You also have the ability to best leverage marketing stack for marketing programs as part of an overall social business strategy. Education marketing experience in both for profit and nonprofit organization preferred.





  • Strategic Mindset: You are able to see the larger picture for NMSI and how decisions fit into NMSI's strategy and direction. You help guide decisions with an eye on both the short-term and long-term impact

What do we offer?

The hiring salary range for this position is $111,961 to $128,755, and the salary offer will be commensurate with experience. We take pay equity seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are paid fairly regardless of their gender, race, or other demographic backgrounds. In addition to a competitive salary with the potential for an annual pay increase, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including paying roughly 85% of employee-only medical, dental, and vision benefits plus a large portion for dependents. Staff are eligible to participate in 401(k) after 90 days of employment, with up to a 6% employee match, fully vested on day one of participation in the plan. Other benefits for full-time employees include referral and performance-based annual bonuses, telecommunications stipends for eligible remote employees, 20+ paid holidays annually (including a two week-long winter break), and a generous PTO policy starting at 14 days per year.
