UH: Sterile Processing (Full-Time, Night Shift)- Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Sterile Processing Technician Lead supervises sterile processing technicians as they prepare instruments and equipment for sterilization. Prepares monthly staffing schedule and adjusts staffing to meet the needs of the day. Orients new employees and evaluates their performance. Conducts and assists with educational opportunities for staff members. Ensures that department complies with requirements of regulatory and inspecting agencies. Follows policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, professionalism, and safe patient care. Contributes to a safe, secure and caring work environment and cooperates among a culturally diverse workforce. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed. High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one year of experience in Central Service required. Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred. Central Service Technician Certification required. Able to read; write legibly; speak with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; operate and troubleshoot patient care equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; follow directions; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; collaborate with RN to problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; function within scope of practice. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. |
