The experienced Cardiothoracic Stepdown Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients recovering from cardiac or thoracic surgery, or those with complex cardiac conditions.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing; be I.V. certified from an approved facility; hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification and ACLS certification is required upon hire. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred. A minimum of 2 years working in a surgical stepdown unit or recently/currently working in Telemetry. Additionally, comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is a Per Diem (on Call) consisting of 2 x 12.5-hour shifts per month, both shifts on weekend. 1 x 12.5 hour Summer Holiday (July4th, Easter, Labor Day) and 1 X 12,5 Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's). The schedule is a night shift - 7PM-8AM.
