OVERVIEW

Build the supply foundation for the next generation of advanced technology.

As Sourcing Program Manager, you will lead sourcing execution for complex product-development and manufacturing programs, connecting Engineering, Operations, Quality, Category Management, and suppliers from early design through production readiness. You will translate technical and program requirements into actionable sourcing plans that improve cost, manufacturability, scalability, quality, schedule, and supply continuity.

This advanced individual contributor role requires broad sourcing and program-management experience, sound judgment, and the ability to independently determine methods for new or complex assignments. You will coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, evaluate tradeoffs, resolve program-level supply issues, and communicate clear recommendations to business and functional leaders. The role may provide project leadership and coaching without direct people-management responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing Program Strategy & Execution

  • Lead sourcing activities across the product lifecycle, from concept and design development through NPI, production launch, and scale-up.
  • Develop integrated sourcing plans, milestones, and deliverables aligned with program schedules, technical requirements, and business objectives.
  • Use program data, supplier input, and business judgment to identify priorities, select appropriate sourcing approaches, and keep execution on track.

Product & Engineering Alignment

  • Partner with Engineering to translate product requirements, bills of material, technology roadmaps, and design changes into sourcing and supplier actions.
  • Influence early design decisions to improve cost, manufacturability, component availability, lead time, and supply resilience.
  • Coordinate sourcing input for design reviews, make-or-buy evaluations, change control, and production-readiness decisions.

Cross-Functional Program Leadership

  • Coordinate sourcing execution across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, Category Management, and other program stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decisions involving cost, schedule, quality, technical performance, capacity, and risk, including situations with incomplete or changing information.
  • Drive accountability for sourcing actions, dependencies, issue resolution, and escalation across assigned programs.

Supplier Selection & Readiness

  • Partner with Category Managers to execute supplier strategies that support product and program requirements.
  • Lead supplier evaluation, selection, qualification, commercial alignment, and readiness activities for assigned programs.
  • Monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, capacity, technical, and schedule expectations and coordinate corrective actions when needed.

Risk Management & Supply Continuity

  • Identify and assess program risks related to supplier capability, capacity, lead time, quality, cost, single-source exposure, and technical execution.
  • Develop and coordinate mitigation plans, including alternate sources, recovery actions, capacity plans, and design-change options.
  • Communicate risk exposure, tradeoffs, and recommended actions to program and functional leadership.

Program Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage sourcing milestones, readiness reviews, action registers, KPIs, and status reporting across assigned programs.
  • Analyze program performance and implement actions that improve sourcing execution, decision quality, and supply readiness.
  • Share best practices, improve sourcing-program tools and processes, and mentor colleagues in effective program execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in sourcing, supply chain, procurement, program management, operations, supplier management, or a related function within a complex product development or manufacturing environment; 6 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting NPI, product development, production launch, or manufacturing scale-up for highly engineered products.
  • Experience within semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, industrial technology, or another complex equipment environment.
  • Experience working across global supply chains and supplier networks.
  • Project-management certification, Master's degree, or MBA.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Broad knowledge of sourcing, procurement, supplier management, product-development lifecycles, NPI, and production-readiness practices.
  • Ability to translate technical, schedule, and business requirements into integrated sourcing strategies and executable program plans.
  • Strong program-management skills, including milestone planning, dependency management, risk management, KPI tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Sound judgment in evaluating complex situations, selecting methods, and balancing cost, quality, schedule, risk, capacity, and technical performance.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional work, build alignment, and influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Working knowledge of supplier selection, commercial negotiation, cost analysis, qualification, and performance management.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers beyond the immediate area of expertise.
  • Clear written, verbal, and leadership-level communication skills, including concise program reporting and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently on new or complex assignments with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, ERP, project-management, sourcing, and data-analysis tools.
