Custodial & Shop Support

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodial & Shop Support Associate maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility through routine janitorial services and general shop cleanup. This position also provides backup coverage for the General Shop Support & Parts Runner, including basic shipping and receiving assistance, internal material movement, and local pickups and deliveries. Cleaning and facility upkeep are the primary responsibilities; the supervisor coordinates backup assignments and daily priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, breakrooms, offices, common areas, and designated shop areas using approved methods and supplies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, clean surfaces, empty trash, and collect recycling on the assigned cleaning schedule.
• Restock restroom, breakroom, and cleaning supplies; notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
• Maintain clean, unobstructed aisles, entrances, emergency exits, and access to safety equipment.
• Clean designated benches, carts, and storage areas; support 5S organization and return supplies to assigned locations.
• Collect packaging, cardboard, and approved shop waste; protect parts and equipment from contamination and foreign object debris (FOD).
• Report spills, leaks, facility damage, unsafe conditions, and maintenance needs; perform cleanup only within training and authorization.
• Provide backup coverage for the General Shop Support & Parts Runner during absences and periods of increased workload.
• Assist Shipping & Receiving with unpacking, packaging, labeling, staging, and basic quantity checks as directed; report damage or discrepancies.
• Move approved parts, materials, tools, and supplies between receiving, storage, production, quality, and shipping locations.
• Maintain material identification and traceability; preserve segregation of incoming, accepted, and nonconforming material.
• Pick up and deliver parts, tools, supplies, and documents at approved local suppliers and other designated locations.
• Confirm pickup and delivery instructions, protect items during transport, and promptly return receipts and required paperwork.
• Follow company safety, quality, FOD, ESD, security, chemical-handling, and driving requirements; use required personal protective equipment.
• Perform other routine support duties as assigned. Operate equipment or perform inventory transactions only after training and authorization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in janitorial services, manufacturing, warehousing, or general shop support preferred but not required.
• Dependable attendance and ability to maintain the assigned work schedule.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, cleaning checklists, and basic recordkeeping requirements.
• Ability to perform basic counting and handle parts and supplies carefully.
• Attention to cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with the supervisor when priorities conflict.
• Valid driveris license and ability to meet company driving requirements for assigned local pickups and deliveries.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, push, and pull.
• Ability to move cleaning supplies and materials safely, using lifting assistance or equipment as needed.
• Work in office, restroom, warehouse, and shop environments; perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to use approved cleaning and material-handling equipment after appropriate training.

Schedule and weekly hours will be established by Operations based on facility cleaning needs and required backup coverage.

The supervisor coordinates support requests to ensure essential cleaning duties are completed while providing shipping, receiving, and parts-runner coverage.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional local travel for approved pickups and deliveries. Vehicle arrangements and driving authorization must be established before assignments.
