What You Will Do: GFT is looking for a dynamic Municipal Water/Wastewater Engineer offering strong technical expertise to join our Water/Wastewater practice in our Mercer, PA office. What you'll be challenged to do: As a Municipal Water/Wastewater Engineer you will use your technical and management abilities to plan, design and construct water/wastewater infrastructure in a dynamic team setting as well as to mentor junior staff. This represents an excellent career opportunity for a proven self-starter capable of leading the design of medium to large scale projects with a customer-centric mentality with an emphasis on delivery quality at the highest level. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Participating on project teams in the planning, design and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects. Client interaction, presentations, and project coordination. Coordinating work activities with various technical staff and consultants including developing and implementing study and design standards, leading progress meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, tracking project schedules, and budgets. Water and Wastewater Treatment Facility Design, including basis of design reports, plans, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, condition assessments, technical evaluations, etc. Coordinating work activities and communicating with various municipalities and governmental regulating agencies. Overseeing construction contract management and observation services. Preparation of technical reports and permit applications. Supervise and mentor junior-level engineers. Education \| Experience: What you will bring to our firm: BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (MS is preferred) Professional Engineer License is required. A minimum of 7 years of experience required in water/wastewater discipline, particularly as a water/wastewater engineer designing (study, plans and specifications) water and/or wastewater infrastructure (i.e. treatment processes and collection/distribution projects). Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems. Leader and team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation. What we prefer you bring: MS Degree Experience with small and large diameter pipes, pipeline and gravity sewers is a plus. Experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM is preferred. Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
