Summary

UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services is seeking a motivated, compassionate Physical Therapist I to join our specialized Pelvic Health program at UNC Therapy Services - Durham in Durham, North Carolina. This full-time opportunity is well suited to a therapist with a strong interest in pelvic health, including an early-career clinician with qualifying pelvic health clinical training, who values evidence-based practice, individualized care, and continued professional growth.

UNC Therapy Services - Durham is a center for specialty outpatient pelvic health, cancer rehabilitation, and lymphedema services. In this role, you will primarily provide pelvic health physical therapy to adults of diverse genders and backgrounds, helping patients address conditions that affect comfort, mobility, continence, daily function, and quality of life. Our pelvic health caseload includes bladder and bowel dysfunction, urinary or fecal incontinence, urgency, pelvic pain, pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, pregnancy- and postpartum-related concerns, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual function-related concerns, and post-surgical or other complex abdominopelvic conditions.

A defining feature of our care model is one-on-one treatment with 60-minute appointments in private treatment rooms. This approach provides time for thorough evaluation, individualized treatment, patient education, and thoughtful clinical progression, while supporting the privacy and trust essential to pelvic health care.

Our clinicians collaborate with experienced pelvic health therapists, referring physicians, advanced practice providers, and other rehabilitation specialists. The Durham program has also been involved in UNC Health's Women's Health Physical Therapy Residency, offering opportunities for professional exchange, learning, and interaction with experienced mentors and residency educators as appropriate.

We value respectful, patient-centered, and trauma-informed care. Therapists use clear communication, shared decision-making, and informed consent throughout examination and treatment, with special attention to patient comfort, autonomy, and individual needs. Pelvic floor assessment and interventions are performed only as clinically appropriate and within the therapist's training, demonstrated competency, and applicable practice standards.

This role offers the opportunity to grow within a focused specialty program while contributing to high-quality care, team collaboration, clinical education, and service improvement. We welcome candidates with prior pelvic health experience, as well as qualifying recent graduates who have completed a dedicated pelvic health clinical rotation and foundational pelvic floor education.

Work Schedule

- Full-time, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week.

- Day shift with flexible scheduling of workdays and start/end times based on clinic needs and the selected candidate's availability.
