About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative professional to join our team. As a Knowledge and Innovation Attorney - Litigation, you will be responsible for combining deep litigation experience with knowledge management and legal AI to support the firm's Litigation practice.

Reporting to the Head of AI, the Knowledge & Innovation Attorney will organize and leverage the practice's knowledge, shape how AI is used in litigation work, and serve as a bridge between the practice and the firm's broader AI, Knowledge & Innovation team.

Success in this role requires strong communication and collaboration, a proactive and adaptable approach, positive working relationships, and a commitment to exceptional results.

This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

Work collaboratively with Litigation partners and attorneys to understand practice priorities, workflows, and opportunities for knowledge management and AI.
  • Catalog, curate, and maintain searchable collections of litigation work product and reference materials, including briefs, motions, pleadings, expert reports, deposition and witness outlines, discovery requests and responses, protective orders, ESI protocols, and other customary documentation.
  • Develop and maintain forms, checklists, best-practice guidance, and practice resources that support consistent, up-to-date work product.
  • Track significant legal developments, procedural changes, court rules, and judges' standing orders relevant to the practice, in coordination with the Managing Attorney's Office.
  • Identify, design, and test AI-enabled workflows for litigation tasks such as research, drafting, document analysis, and case preparation.
  • Prepare and curate practice knowledge so it can be used effectively by the firm's AI and knowledge platforms.
  • Support adoption of firm-approved tools through practice-specific guidance, training, and demonstrations, and gather feedback from attorneys to improve solutions.
  • Help ensure AI-assisted litigation work follows firm standards for quality, confidentiality, and responsible use, and escalate questions to the appropriate owners.
  • Coordinate with Litigation Technology, the Staff Attorney department, Professional Development, and other support teams on matters that affect litigation knowledge and workflows.
  • Collaborate with Knowledge & Innovation Attorneys in other practices to share successful approaches and reduce duplication.
  • Support training of junior and lateral attorneys and assist with practice-related thought leadership and client-facing materials.

What We're Looking For

  • J.D. and admission to the New York State bar required.
  • Five or more years of litigation experience in a law firm or comparable setting.
  • Experience across the litigation lifecycle, including motion practice, discovery, and trial or arbitration preparation.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Interest in knowledge management and practical familiarity with AI tools and their application to legal work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, document management systems such as iManage or NetDocuments, legal research platforms including Westlaw and Lexis, eDiscovery platforms including Relativity, document comparison tools including Litera Compare, experience with Harvey AI, Copilot, or similar tools.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.

  • Knowledge management, practice support, or litigation technology experience is a plus.
