Overview

Veeco's Precision Surface Processing (PSP) team is transforming how advanced semiconductors are manufactured, and fluid delivery systems are at the heart of that mission. As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in fluidics,you'lltackle the challenge of designinghighly reliable, innovative chemical and gas handling systems for next-generation wet processing equipment. Your work will directlyimpactVeeco's ability to deliver engineered-to-order solutions that meet the toughest performance and safety standards for customers in high-growth markets such as advanced logic, power devices, and photonics. Responsibilities

• Design andoptimizecomplex fluid handling and plumbing architectures to meet customer-specific performance, safety, and reliability requirements.

• Translate customer specifications into practical system designs and detailed engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• Select and integrate valves, regulators, sensors, and other fluidic components for precision control within high-purity chemical environments.

• Lead design reviews and present solutions that balance technical, manufacturing, and cost trade-offs with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Drive validation efforts by developing and executing test plans that confirm system performance under real-world process conditions.

• Support systembuildand troubleshooting activities during assembly and bring-up to ensure seamless transfer from design to manufacturing.

• Champion continuous improvement in fluidics design practices,identifyingopportunities to enhance reliability and reduce cycle time.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of experience in capital equipment design is required. M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.Proficiencyin SolidWorks and AutoCAD or equivalent 3D CAD systems is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Background in fluid systems design for complex equipment or industrial applications desired.

• Skilled in fluid dynamics principles including flow, pressure drop, and heat transfer calculations.

• Experience specifying and integrating valves, pumps, sensors, and instrumentation for chemical or gas handling applications.

• Familiarity with PLM tools such as SAP and with structured ECO processes for releasing documentation.

• Ability to interpret SEMI standards and apply safety practices in system design.

• Competent in presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Practical experience in systembuild, prototyping, and troubleshooting.

• Exposure to automation, motion control, or control systems is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
