Lead Structured Cabling Technician Location: Irvine, CA Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts; overtime as needed Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour Job Summary The Structured Cabling Lead Technician is responsible for leading and performing low-voltage cabling installations in commercial construction environments. This role oversees cabling activities, ensures work meets project specifications and quality standards, and provides technical guidance to technicians on-site. The ideal candidate has hands-on structured cabling experience, a strong commercial construction background, and the ability to coordinate daily field activities safely and efficiently. Job Responsibilities Lead and perform the installation, routing, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems. Coordinate daily work activities and provide technical direction to cabling technicians. Install and maintain low-voltage copper and fiber cabling in commercial construction environments. Read and interpret project drawings, cable schedules, floor plans, and installation requirements. Ensure cabling installations comply with applicable project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Troubleshoot cabling issues and identify appropriate corrective actions. Maintain organized cable pathways, labeling, termination, and documentation. Monitor workmanship and assist with quality-control inspections. Coordinate with project leadership and other trades to support project schedules and installation requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow established job-site safety procedures. Support overtime requirements when necessary to meet project deadlines. Job Requirements Previous experience performing structured cabling or low-voltage installations in commercial construction environments. Previous experience leading technicians or crews on structured cabling projects. Strong knowledge of structured cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting practices. Ability to work with copper and fiber-optic cabling systems. Ability to read construction drawings, floor plans, and cabling documentation. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and provide direction to other technicians. Ability to use standard low-voltage installation, termination, and testing tools. Ability to work Monday through Friday and perform overtime as project needs require. Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation for local job-site travel. Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.) Work is performed locally in the Irvine, CA area. Personal transportation is required for travel to local job sites. Candidates must be available for an in-person interview. A technical screening is required as part of the selection process.
