Designed to power the future of biologics manufacturing, this new facility will strengthen UCB's global manufacturing network, expand supply capabilities for future medicines, and support our long-term ambition of bringing innovative treatments to patients around the world. The project combines advanced manufacturing technologies, digital innovation, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence to create a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.

As a true greenfield initiative, the BioNexUS program offers a unique opportunity to influence the digital foundation of a world-class manufacturing site from the earliest design phases through commercial operations.

We are looking for a Head of Digital Technology - Manufcaturing US, who is visionary, collaborative and strategic to join us in our Digital Technology team, based in our Atlanta office in the United States. This hybrid role requires 40% onsite presence and 20% domestic/international travel.

About the role

You will lead the digital technology strategy and execution for this flagship biologics manufacturing program. You will ensure digital capabilities are embedded into the facility from the beginning, enabling an intelligent, connected, compliant and future-ready manufacturing environment. You will help shape UCB's vision for the Manufacturing Plant of the Future by bringing together digital technologies, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, data platforms, automation integration and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Who you'll work with

You will be working in a team that collaborates closely with engineering, manufacturing, automation, quality, supply chain and operations leaders across the United States and Europe.

You will serve as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders throughout the project and work closely with engineering firms, technology vendors, system integrators and cross-functional delivery teams. Together, you will ensure digital technology solutions support both near-term program objectives and the long-term operational vision for the site.

What you'll do

• Lead digital technology delivery from design through operational handover.
• Define the technology roadmap for a future-ready manufacturing facility.
• Embed cybersecurity, compliance and validation requirements into program design.
• Drive integration between operational and enterprise technology systems.
• Translate digital, AI and data strategies into business outcomes.
• Lead technology governance, vendors and delivery partners.
• Represent technology strategy in senior program decision-making forums.
• Enable smart manufacturing and future digital manufacturing capabilities.

Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 8+ years leading complex manufacturing technology programs or projects in manufacturing.
• Experience delivering large-scale technology programs from design through implementation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing technology architecture and system integration, including informational and operational technology.
• Experience managing scope, budgets, timelines, risks, vendors and governance structures.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, validation, data integrity and regulatory requirements.
• Experience partnering with engineering, manufacturing and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic decisions.
• Strong communication, facilitation and executive engagement capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience supporting greenfield manufacturing or major capital programs.
• Experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industries.
• Experience integrating enterprise and operational technology environments.
• Experience supporting commissioning, startup or operational readiness activities.
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence or smart factory initiatives.
• Experience developing long-term digital technology strategies.
• Experience building teams and operating models within complex program environments.
• Experience working across global and matrixed organizations.

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $236,800 - $310,800 per year. The actual salary offered will consider internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
