Senior Director Electronic Security Systems Engineering, Estimation & CAD

Evolver seeking an accomplished Senior Director Electronic Security Systems Engineering, Estimation & CAD to lead the organization's electronic security systems engineering, estimation, technical design, and CAD functions. This position serves as the senior technical authority for developing, reviewing, pricing, and supporting the execution of complex integrated security solutions across federal, commercial, and critical-infrastructure environments.

This Senior Director will lead multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, from opportunity development and estimating through design, installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and closeout. The position works closely with Business Development, Operations, Project Management, Procurement, Field Services, and Executive Leadership to deliver technically sound, accurately estimated, constructible, compliant solutions aligned with customer mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Engineering, Estimation, and CAD functions, including staffing, resource allocation, budgeting, performance management, and professional development.
• Establish and improve engineering standards, estimating methodologies, CAD conventions, quality procedures, review gates, performance metrics, and repeatable design processes.
• Serve as the senior subject matter expert for complex electronic and physical security system designs and integrated system architectures.
• Oversee and approve design packages, shop drawings, device and cable schedules, block and riser diagrams, network diagrams, wiring details, equipment layouts, sequences of operation, compliance matrices, test plans, and as-built documentation.
• Direct estimating for federal, commercial, and critical-infrastructure opportunities, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, travel, procurement strategy, and risk contingencies.
• Review and approve designs, technical solutions, and estimates before proposal or customer submission.
• Partner with Operations and Project Management to transition projects effectively from sales and engineering into installation and execution.
• Support field teams during installation, integration, testing, commissioning, system acceptance, and project closeout.
• Oversee engineering quality assurance, drawing control, design revisions, engineering changes, and installation compliance.
• Support proposal development, customer presentations, design reviews, RFIs, ROM estimates, compliance responses, and technical evaluations.
• Evaluate technologies, manufacturers, and system architectures to strengthen technical capabilities and improve customer outcomes.
• Provide Executive Leadership with visibility into workload, staffing needs, estimating accuracy, design quality, project risk, and departmental performance.
• Set, measure, and report goals for estimate accuracy, on-time design release, design quality, change-order drivers, utilization, backlog, and team development.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 10 years of experience in electronic security systems design, engineering, integration, installation, and implementation.
• 8 years of leadership experience managing engineering, design, estimating, CAD, or technical services groups.
• 3 years of experience leading large-scale federal, commercial, or critical-infrastructure security projects.
• 5 years of experience with Solutions Engineering, Requirements-Driven Design, and Systems Engineering.
• 5 years of experience supporting estimating, proposal development, engineering execution, field installation, commissioning, and project delivery.
• 5 years of experience leading technical teams, balancing proposal and project priorities, and clearly communicating technical and commercial risks to executives and customers.
• 5 years of experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and communications systems.
• 5 years of experience with structured cabling, fiber-optic infrastructure, enterprise networking, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• 5 years of experience with power distribution, UPS systems, and supporting data infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience with engineering calculations for power loading, voltage drop, battery sizing, bandwidth, heat loading, conduit sizing, and rack planning.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with platforms such as: Identiv/Hirsch, LenelS2, Software House C*CURE, Genetec, Avigilon, Honeywell Pro-Watch, Gallagher, Milestone, Bosch, Axis, Hanwha, DMP, Commend, Zenitel, Aiphone, and 2N is highly desirable.
• 2 Years of experience with NEC and NFPA requirements, UL 294, UL 1076, UL 2050, NISPOM, ICD 705, Trade Agreements Act compliance, Buy America and Buy American requirements, Federal agency and customer-specific security standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication, customer engagement, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Preferred experience includes AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel, electronic security estimating platforms, and enterprise resource planning and project management systems.
• PSP, CPP, PMP, NICET, CSEIP, and relevant manufacturer certifications are preferred.
