Export Services Manager

The Export ServicesManagerwill oversee the export of Univar Solutions goods and will ensure safety in all transportation methods. This role will design efficient and cost-effective export process methods and analyze best means of transport essential for Univar Solutions to deliver on our commitment to customers and achieve our companyobjectivesto "Streamline, Innovate & Grow."

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Management of exportlogisticspersonnel and associated processes. Negotiation of spot rates and sponsorship of carrier procurement initiatives.

• Management and communication of relevant export compliance - DOT, IMO, IMDG, ITAR, etc.Regulations.

• Act as key point of contact for sales and customers to provide consistent, positive customer experiences.

• Assistsin earning "Customers for Life" through the establishment of positive customer relationships and satisfaction.

• This role is empowered to make decisions on behalf ofcompanyin alignment with Univar Solutions strategy, guiding principles and customer satisfaction.

Department Development

• Lead the aggregation of North American export operations and related functions into a single cohesive operating department within the Supply Chain organization.

• Develop,streamline & monitorexport processes,complianceandlogisticsworkflows to deliver operational excellence to internal and external partners.

• Managelogistics(inland, ocean, air freight) to/from vendor to warehouse/or customer direct deliveries to meet customer commitments.

• Interview hire and train colleagues for roles within the Export Operations department.

• Work with the Director of ITS, to optimize Univar's ocean network tofacilitategrowth in new and existing trade lanes.

Leadership

• Lead by example to encourage and inspire safety first and live our cultural values.

Analysis

• Manage and obtain carrier spot quotes and development ofRFP'sin conjunction withUnivarSolutions Transportation team.

• Create & distribute department reports, analytics, dashboards for KPI's.

• Keycontributorin the development & execution of the ITS strategy, operational and financial performance.

• Work with the Director of ITS to optimize Univar's Solutions' ocean network to provide cost effective andtimelyservice to internal and external customers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor's Degree, required.Master's Degree, preferred.

• Minimum of 6-8 years in global/international trade operations, including responsibility for import and/or export for North America locations.

• Experience in customer, freightforwarding, customs brokerage and export trading.

• Chemical industry experienceis stronglypreferred.

• Prior experience with ITAR/EAR, DEA,EPAand BIS preferred.

• NCBFAA Certifications (CCS, CES, MES), IATA, IMDG (among others) preferred.

• Project management experience preferred.

• Demonstrated direct leadership & coaching skills.

• Strong analytical skills & organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Strong problem solving and time management skills.

• Acta subject matter expert in exportlogistics& compliance.

• Strong ability to bring organizational & process structure to greenfield initiatives.

• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English.

• Ability to analyze information - orders, customers, vendors, pricing, and credit terms.

• Experienced in use of computer, MS office applications & SAP or equivalent ERP system, e-learning development preferred.

• Bilingual in Spanish,Portuguese,Korean or Mandarin and English preferred.
