What You'll Do Lead Enterprise-Wide Process Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives across Dallas College.
  • Partner with executive and departmental leaders to identify opportunities that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service quality.
  • Lead efforts to redesign and optimize business processes that support institutional goals and student success.
Analyze and Transform Operations
  • Examine current processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate process mapping, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and future-state design activities.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC, Kaizen, and data-driven analysis, to develop and implement sustainable solutions.
Deliver Measurable Results
  • Establish performance measures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and governance frameworks that support long-term success.
  • Track improvement initiatives and ensure expected benefits are realized and maintained over time.
  • Use data and analytics to guide decision-making and demonstrate organizational impact.
Influence and Collaborate Across the Organization
  • Serve as a trusted consultant to leaders and stakeholders on organizational effectiveness, customer experience, and service delivery optimization.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and cross-functional working sessions to solve complex operational challenges.

Position / Job Summary

Leads enterprise-wide process excellence for Dallas College, directing continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable gains in efficiency, cost, and service quality. Applies Lean Six Sigma methodologies to redesign business processes and establishes the performance measures that sustain those results. Manages a team of process improvement professionals and partners with senior leaders across the College to translate institutional priorities into operational outcomes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads enterprise-wide business process improvement, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence methodologies for Dallas College.
  • Analyzes, maps, redesigns, and optimizes business processes - identifying bottlenecks, waste, variation, and non-value-added activities - to improve efficiency, effectiveness, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Applies Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, including process mapping, value stream mapping, DMAIC, Kaizen, and data analysis, to facilitate process discovery, root cause analysis, current-state and future-state assessments, and solution development with cross-functional teams.
  • Designs and implements process governance frameworks, performance measures, and continuous improvement strategies aligned with Dallas College objectives, including support for governance structures, steering committees, and operational excellence programs.
  • Develops and tracks operational performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and improvement measures, and monitors initiatives to verify that expected benefits are realized and sustained over time.
  • Partners with leaders and stakeholders to evaluate business needs and recommend process improvements, policy enhancements, and operational strategies, providing consultation and subject matter expertise on organizational effectiveness, customer experience, and service delivery optimization.
  • Leads stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, and facilitation activities and builds strong working relationships across the College, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving to address complex operational challenges and ensure alignment, engagement, and successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Champions organizational change initiatives by promoting process standardization, efficiency, and adoption of best practices, and leads efforts to increase customer satisfaction, employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and organizational performance.
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops staff in Lean Six Sigma principles, process improvement techniques, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Develops and delivers presentations, training, and communications related to process improvement methodologies, findings, recommendations, and outcomes.
  • Ensures adherence to Dallas College policies, procedures, and quality standards while maintaining expertise in business process improvement methodologies, operational excellence practices, organizational effectiveness, and emerging technologies.
  • Perform other duties not listed as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure of Dallas College.

[Essential duties 6 - If physical presence is required for the role:

  • This position requires regular on-site presence to fulfill essential duties that cannot be performed remotely. Duties must be executed in-person to ensure effective collaboration, supervision, and service delivery, in accordance with Texas SB 2615.

Required Dallas College Professional Development Hours per Academic Year

  • All employees are required to complete a minimum of 19 hours.
  • Employees in people leader positions or positions that include supervisory duties must complete an additional 16 hours of leadership development.

The following essential duties and responsibilities are also required for People Leader positions specifically:

  • Exercise full discretion and decision-making authority in recruitment, selection, hiring, mentoring, coaching, development & performance evaluation of staff, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, college policies, organizational goals, budgetary constraints, and workforce planning strategies.
  • Manage and drive high performance by administering the performance management process timely, setting clear expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention.

Minimum and Preferred - Education, Experience, and/or Certifications

Minimum Requirements for Position (necessary or mandatory)

  • Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years of work-related experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Official transcripts are required.
  • Black Belt certification required.
  • Must have valid driver's license to travel off site.
  • Work hours may extend beyond the regular, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p m. workday, including weekends and holidays.
