Main Duties & Responsibilities
In this position, the Tool Maker III must be capable of doing engine lathe and milling machine
operations for
all phases of work performed.
This occupation requires planning and performing all bench and machine
operations (including
experimental work) involving the highest degree of specialized skill and
knowledge of tool
building practice to construct,
alter, and assemble.

Duties:
Builds, restores, and services a variety of tooling used in fabrication
of rubber or metal parts on assemblies
and generally, works from part of assembly drawings or sketches
Utilizes all machines such as engine lathes, milling machines,
machinist's hand tools, precision measuring
instruments and shop mathematics including trigonometry.
Produce production parts per specifications and instructions or
blueprints and operations sheets.
Perform in quality and productivity to established standards.
Must do production runs and tooling details as required and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum
Education/Experience:
5-7 plus years'
experience in operating various production machine shop equipment.

Knowledge, Skills
and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as
blueprints, manufacturing planning (routers), safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished
in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to use higher shop mathematics such as descriptive geometry and
trigonometry to figure compound angles, complex contours, and multiple
coordinated dimensions.
Must be able to use a variety of precision measuring instruments for inspection
equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, telescope gauges, indicators,
height and depth gauges.
Must have good
mechanical aptitude and be able to read and work from sketches.
Must be able to read
and understand written and verbal instructions.
Conform to company
safety policies and procedures.
Work in a team
environment.
Ability to write
routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to
communicate in the English language.
Ability to apply
commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form.

Essential Physical/ Mental Abilities Required:
The employee is regularly required to
stand, lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, walk, sit, talk or hear, climb and
dismount both stairs and platforms. Employees must use their hands, handle or
feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual occasionally works near
moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne
particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The Noise level is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual may be required to wear
safety protection gear.

The pay range for this position is from
$36.00 - $43.00 per hour.
