The College of Nursing Department of Student Services provides enrollment and student support services for both undergraduate and graduate students. The Department of Student Services provides oversight of a wide array of initiatives to facilitate enrollment, retention, and graduation initiatives of the college. Areas housed within Student Services include: marketing, recruitment, academic advising, pre-licensure and accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing application review and admission, student success, clinical placement and compliance as well as licensure and certification of graduations and alumni.

The Academic Advisor will provide advising services on a full-time basis for the College of Nursing's undergraduate accelerated 2nd degree and pre-licensure intended and declared BSN students, guide students in the development of decision-making skills, develop and implement programming to support student success, evaluate admission applications, provide referrals to campus support services as needed, participate in college and university events related to recruitment, retention and graduation, collaborate with others as part of a team of student support personnel, and teach COAD 1000.

The academic advisor duties and responsibilities of this position will include the following:

This position requires a master's degree received from an appropriately accredited institution and conferred by the time of hire. Teaching, advising, and/or counseling experience in higher education is needed for this position.

Extensive knowledge of the requirements for the degree program in the College of Nursing. Knowledge of degree requirements for related programs in other areas.
