The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California's Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

Job Purpose:

The Facilities Manager oversees physical plant operations, industrial building infrastructure, heavy equipment utility distribution, and industrial workplace safety for a high-volume manufacturing and metal fabrication facility. This role ensures peak operational uptime, efficient floor space utilization, and strict adherence to environmental and industrial safety standards.

Nature of Duties/ Responsibilities:

Industrial Infrastructure & Utilities Maintenance

• Oversee plant utilities critical to fabrication operations, including high-voltage power distribution, industrial compressed air, process cooling, gas lines (welding gases), and dust collection systems.
• Implement and manage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for preventive and predictive facility maintenance.
• Manage building envelope, HVAC, crane/hoist structures, floor loading, and waste stream management systems (metal scrap, hazardous fluids).

Fabrication Floor & Space Optimization

• Partner with manufacturing engineers to plan machine layouts, equipment rigging, installation of heavy machinery (CNC, lasers, press brakes, welding stations), and material handling pathways.
• Ensure structural floor capabilities and utility hookups meet fabrication machinery specs.

Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Maintain compliance with industrial regulatory standards, including OSHA (machine guarding, Lockout/Tagout, crane safety), EPA, and local fire codes.
• Manage industrial waste disposal, storm runoff, and chemical storage safety compliance.

Vendor & Project Management

• Manage specialized industrial contractors (riggers, electricians, MEP, industrial plumbers, waste removal).
• Lead capital improvement projects (CapEx), plant expansions, and equipment installation budgets.

Education & Experience:

• 5+ years of facilities management experience directly within a heavy manufacturing, machining, or metal fabrication environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of industrial 3-phase power, compressed air systems, overhead cranes, rig planning, and industrial ventilation. Proficiency with CMMS software and CAD/layout tools.
• Certifications (Preferred): Certified Facility Manager (CFM), OSHA 30-Hour Industrial Certification, or CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional).

Salary Range (annual): $110,000 - $140,000. Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
