Responsibilities

Please note this is a Hybrid position being offered out of our Billerica, MA offices. Onsite presence will be required at least two days per week.

New opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Tax Accounting Manager to join the Bruker Corporate Tax team. The Tax Accounting Manager is responsible for managing key components of the Company's global income tax accounting and reporting processes, including ASC 740 tax provisions, FIN 48 analysis, tax account reconciliations, and SEC reporting and disclosures. Will report to the Director of Tax Accounting and combine strong technical tax accounting expertise with demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for continuous process improvement, automation, and digital transformation. This position collaborates closely with global finance teams, internal and external auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting while driving efficiencies throughout the tax function.

    Manage and coordinate the preparation and review of quarterly and annual global income tax provisions under ASC 740 in collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Review the recording of US and foreign return-to-provision analysis.
  • Review current and deferred tax calculations, tax account roll forwards, effective tax rate analysis, and supporting workpapers.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, documentation, and reporting of uncertain tax positions under ASC 740-10 (FIN 48), including the calculation and maintenance of FIN 48 reserves.
  • Lead the preparation and review of income tax disclosures for Forms 10-Q and 10-K and support income tax reporting in statutory financial statements.
  • Analyze and document complex tax accounting matters, including business combinations, goodwill and intangible asset transactions, restructuring activities, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions and intercompany transactions.
  • Manage forecasting and budgeting initiatives related to income taxes and effective tax rates, including analysis of actual-to-forecast variances.
  • Partner with FP&A, accounting, treasury, legal, and corporate development teams to evaluate tax implications of significant transactions.
  • Develop and maintain tax dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive-level analytics to provide insight into effective tax rate drivers, deferred tax positions, uncertain tax positions, cash taxes, and tax department performance metrics.
  • Maintain and enhance SOX-compliant tax controls and supporting documentation, including process narratives, risk and control matrices (RCMs), control execution evidence, quarterly certifications, and coordination of internal and external audit requests related to tax accounting and reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes across tax accounting, compliance, and reporting activities.
  • Lead and support the integration of tax processes with ERP, consolidation, and financial reporting systems.
  • Manage assigned tax accounting workstreams, coordinate deliverables across regional teams and external service providers, and provide technical guidance, coaching, and review support to tax team members.
  • Partner with regional finance teams to ensure accurate and complete tax reporting across global legal entities and timely resolution of reporting issues.
  • Manage and coordinate external tax advisors and auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, including ownership of information requests and issue resolution.
  • Lead the development and documentation of tax controls, policies, and standard operating procedures.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/ or Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax.
  • CPA strongly preferred. MST or advanced tax qualification desirable.
  • Public Accounting work experience plus a minimum 7+ years of Corporate Tax work experience, including significant income tax accounting experience under ASC 740.
  • Strong hands-on working knowledge of:
    • FIN 48 uncertain tax positions
    • Current and deferred tax accounting
    • Effective tax rate calculations
    • Tax provision and tax account reconciliation processes
  • Recent experience managing external audit requirements and supporting SEC income tax reporting and disclosure requirements for multinational public companies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical, proposal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, advanced technology skills and MS Office proficiency.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision or other similar income tax reporting tools.
  • Experience applying AI tools and automation technologies within finance or tax functions preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, S/4HANA, BPC, Hyperion, or similar financial systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to research and understand financial matters to assess options and conclude on appropriate actions going forward.
  • Operates with a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex global and matrix work environment, with capability to gain commitment and coordinated action for initiatives.

  • English language fluency required; knowledge of additional languages desirable.
  • Valid Driver License in good standing issued by resident state/ country required.
  • Maintenance of a valid passport with flexibility for frequent overnight global travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $97,200 and $173,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
