Salary: $90,000/year - $110,000/year Position Summary At Children's Aid, we believe that all children have limitless potential. Our dedicated staff provide comprehensive supports to children and families across New York City by ensuring safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environments that foster learning, health, and community well-being. The Assistant Director of Facilities supports the Director of Facilities and Real Estate Operations in overseeing facilities operations and capital projects across Children's Aid's portfolio of more than 40 sites. This role is responsible for planning and managing repair, renovation, construction, emergency response, equipment replacement, and site improvement projects, including new site buildouts, relocations, and facility decommissioning. The Assistant Director partners closely with program leadership, compliance, Information Technology, finance, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This position also provides on-site project oversight, supports inspections and project close-out activities, and serves as a representative of the Director as needed, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of facilities operations, project status, and organizational priorities. Children's Aid Mission To help children in poverty to succeed and thrive. Children's Aid annually serves children and their families at over forty sites in New York, as well as through three national program models. Children's Aid is concentrating its efforts on creating cradle-through-college pathways in high-need neighborhoods, with a focus on children's health, family stability, education, and social and emotional development. Experience
4 - 5 years: Experience developing, managing, and monitoring capital or operating project budgets of $2 million or more. (required)
4 - 5 years: Experience managing construction projects, contractors, vendors, and service providers, including contract administration and performance oversight. (required) 7 - 8 years: Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, architectural plans, engineering reports, specifications, and contract documents. (required) 10 - 12 years: Progressively responsible experience in facilities management, construction management, capital projects, or building operations. (required) Licenses & Certifications
