Maintenance Mechanic (Night Shift)

Job Summary

UFP Windsor is looking for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our lumber manufacturing team. This position is responsible for keeping our production equipment, machinery, and facility systems operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. Experience in a sawmill, lumber mill, manufacturing, or other industrial environment is preferred.

Hours: 2:30pm-1am, Mon-Thurs

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, saws, planers, motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and other mill equipment.
• Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and basic machining as needed.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential maintenance issues before failures occur.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair needs to supervisors.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work closely with production personnel and other maintenance team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, kneel, and work in varying conditions.
• Must be willing to work [overtime/weekends/rotating shifts] as needed.
• Preferred ExperienceSawmill or lumber manufacturing experience.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, sawmill equipment, planers, debarkers, chippers, or similar machinery.
• Industrial welding and fabrication.
• Preventative maintenance programs.Electrical motor and controls troubleshooting.PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly Pay Range: $25+ per hour dependent on experience*

(+$2 Night Shift Pay)

*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay:

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
