Salary Range: $49,250 - $67,000

Position Summary:

The Director of Instrumental Operations within the Boyer College of Music and Dance, Instrumental Studies department, Temple University provides wide-ranging day-to-day support to the faculty, staff, and students within the Instrumental Studies department. Provides comprehensive accounts payable and administrative support for the Instrumental Department by coordinating financial transactions, contracts, travel, and purchasing activities. Responsibilities include processing payments for independent contractors, vendors, faculty reimbursements, and other employment forms for students with assistantships; preparing and routing Professional Services Agreements (PSAs) and adjunct contracts through the appropriate systems; coordinating travel and lodging arrangements for guest artists, clinicians, and faculty; monitoring departmental budgets and expenditures; processing purchase orders and departmental purchases; and ensuring timely submission of contract documentation and payment authorizations. This role requires maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures, and serving as a key administrative resource in support of departmental operations.

This position will also serve as the Instrumental Ensemble Librarian overseeing the acquisition, organization, preparation, distribution, and preservation of music for the university's instrumental ensembles. This position manages a comprehensive library supporting orchestral, wind band, jazz, chamber, opera, percussion, and conducting programs by ensuring that performance materials are accurate, complete, and available for rehearsals, performances, auditions, and academic instruction. The Instrumental Ensemble Librarian coordinates music purchases and rentals, maintains library inventories and digital archives, supervises graduate assistants, conducts editorial and musicological research, and collaborates closely with faculty, conductors, publishers to support the artistic and educational mission of the department. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 4 years of student/administrative experience in a higher ed setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Master's degree preferred; Music degree preferred
