SVB Startup Banking is focused on engaging and building deep and authentic relationships with pre-Series A founders, investors (emerging managers), clients, prospects, and partners including accelerators/incubators, law firms, universities, industry groups, and more.

The Business Planning & Support Consultant plays a key role in helping define, operationalize, and execute the Startup Banking team's strategy, ensuring alignment across priorities, initiatives, and growth objectives. They will partner with sales leadership, Business Development, Relationship Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to manage strategic initiatives, drive effective change management, and enhance sales productivity. They will create scalable processes, communications, and content strategies to improve alignment, accelerate execution, and support business growth. This role reports directly to the Head of Startup Banking, acting as a strategic advisor to the leadership team while helping drive business growth, organizational effectiveness, and resolution of complex business challenges.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through execution in partnership with the Startup Banking leadership team.
  • Partner with key functional stakeholders, including FP.&A, Sales Ops, Risk, Service, Product, and other teams, to ensure alignment on business priorities, processes, content, and performance.
  • Represent the Head of Startup Banking in key business initiatives and discussions.
  • Establish and maintain centralized content, tools, and resources to support consistent execution across the Startup Banking team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve growth, productivity, and operational efficiency across the business.
  • Design and implement enhancements to business processes, while identifying knowledge gaps and partnering on solutions
  • Proactively identify and resolve organizational risks, issues and execution barriers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in business strategy, business management, sales enablement, operations, analytics, project management, and/or financial services experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting commercial banking, technology, venture, or startup ecosystems
  • Ability to develop strong executive-level presentations, communications and business cases
  • Proficient in working with data to identify trends, opportunities and recommendations
  • Proven track record of managing and owning large complex projects end-to-end
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead from behind and exercise significant influence with key stakeholders

If hired in NY or SF the base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $130,000- $173,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive or bonus pay, in addition to a competitive and comprehensive benefits program.

If hired in Boston, the base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $125,000 - $166,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive or bonus pay, in addition to a competitive and comprehensive benefits program.
