Job Description Visa is seeking a senior attorney to lead legal support foritsbusiness operations inCentral America andtheCaribbean(CARCAM).BasedinMiami, Florida,this rolereports to the SVP, Chief Counsel for Latin America andtheCaribbean(LAC)in San Francisco, California,andtotheCARCAMGroup ManagerinMiami, Florida. Responsibilities: Leadthelegal teamsupportingVisa'sCARCAMoperationsandserve as a memberof the CARCAM leadership team. AdviseandsupporttheCARCAMGroup Manager andleadershipteamon legal matters. Proactively identifylegalandregulatoryrisks,develop solutions,and guideimplementationthroughstructured legal analysis, early escalation ofkey roadblocks,and creativenegotiation strategies to achievesatisfactoryoutcomes. Usedeep knowledge ofCARCAMmarkets,local electronic payment systems,relevantlegalareas-includingantitrust, privacy, intellectual property,anti-bribery, and employment-andVisa's business toprovidepractical,business-focused legal advice. Draft, review, and negotiatecomplexcommercial agreements,includingclient incentive,sponsorship,advertising,promotion, memorandumof understanding,technology,consultancy,contractor, andconfidentiality agreements.Developstandardtemplates and adaptU.S. documents tomeetlocal requirements. Workclosely withsales,product, marketing,compliance,and other functionstointegratelegal guidanceintothedevelopmentand rollout ofproductsand services. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 12 years of relevant experience. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Current member in good standing of a State Bar with the ability to become barred or a registered in-house counsel in the state where this role is located. Preferred Qualifications: Law degreefromanaccredited law school andmembershipin good standing with a U.S. state bar. 15+ yearsof experienceas in-house counselatamultinationalcompanyorwithalarge law firm,withsignificantexperienceincomplexcommercialandregulatorymatters. Preferredexperience inpaymentsorfintech, includingengagementwith financial and competition regulators. Strong understanding oftheelectronicpaymentsindustryandCARCAMregulations. Excellentanalytical,communication,and problem-solvingskills,with the ability toturncomplex legal concepts into clear,practical, andactionableadvice. Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English. Ability toserve asa strategicadvisortoCARCAMleadershipbypressure-testingideas,identifyingrisks, andassessingstrategic changeswith potentiallegal or business implications. Proactive, solution-oriented approachandability to thrive in a fast-paced,evolvingenvironment. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to buildeffectiverelationships with internal clients at allmanagementlevels, while collaboratingwith LAC regional and global teamsacross a matrixed, multi-countryorganization. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Some international travel may be required. Information for US Applicants For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $185,000.00 to $ 296,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Work Hours Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
