The Security Specialist - TEMPEST Engineer supports the development, coordination, and implementation of TEMPEST requirements for the F35 Joint Strike Fighter Air System and its associated secure facilities. The position ensures compliance with applicable TEMPEST standards by working closely with Government organizations, the Air System Contractor, and Certified TEMPEST Technical Authorities. Responsibilities also include maintaining and updating program documentation to reflect current TEMPEST and security requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • The Security Specialist - TEMPEST Engineer coordinates and participates in the development of TEMPEST requirements for the F35 Air System and secure facilities supporting the program.
  • Security Specialist - TEMPEST Engineer coordinate with the Air System Contractor, United States Government entities, and Certified TEMPEST Technical Authorities to support compliance with established TEMPEST regulations.
  • Ensure all FRDs, FPDs, SOPs, plans, and training products are updated within required timelines following each Task Order award and annually thereafter.
  • Assist with integrating TEMPEST requirements into engineering, security, and facility planning activities across the program.
  • Support documentation reviews, updates, and compliance checks to ensure TEMPEST standards align with evolving program needs.
  • Collaborate with Government security personnel and technical authorities to resolve TEMPESTrelated issues and maintain accreditationready documentation.
  • Participate in program meetings, reviews, and working groups focused on TEMPEST compliance and secure system integration.
  • Security Specialist - TEMPEST Engineer maintain coordinated communication among stakeholders to ensure consistent application of TEMPEST guidance across all relevant F35 facilities and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):



  • Knowledge of TEMPEST principles, secure facility requirements, and DoD/IC standards applicable to electromagnetic emissions protection.
  • Ability to interpret and apply TEMPEST regulations for aircraft systems, facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Skilled in coordinating technical requirements among Government organizations, contractors, and Certified TEMPEST Technical Authorities.
  • Ability to manage and update complex security documentation including FRDs, FPDs, SOPs, plans, and training materials.
  • Skilled in supporting compliance assessments, technical reviews, and integration of TEMPEST requirements into secure system operations.



Minimum/General Experience:



  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience.



Minimum Education:



  • Master's Degree in relevant field.
