The Division of Student Affairs comprises over 30 departments, each responsible for providing various student support, services, and educational programs accessible to the university community. With over 300 full-time employees and over 1200 student workers, the Division supports Pirate success through environments that enhance student development, engagement, belonging, well-being, and career readiness. The Department of Student Engagement is a portfolio of offices, centers, and programs focused on helping students connect to the campus community and fostering student success in college. Each unit provides students with opportunities to get involved, attend events and programs, establish a support network, and enhance their college experience. The Department of Student Engagement includes seven areas: the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement, the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center, the Military & Veterans Resource Center, the Women & Gender Center, the Dr. Jesse R. ECU students in need and is overseen by the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator for the Williams-Ross Purple Pantry is to provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Williams-Ross Purple Pantry locations, which includes the main pantry in the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement suite, mini-pantries, the Health Sciences Student Center, and the Lil' Pirate Pantry. Operations include volunteer and inventory management, donor and campus relations, marketing and outreach to the campus community, and educational programming related to food insecurity.
This position will supervise and coordinate the Williams-Ross Purple Pantry Leadership Team, a group of committed volunteers that will help advise and carry out the mission of the Williams-Ross Purple Pantry. As a partner pantry of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for monthly reporting to the Food Bank and coordinating all donation drives to the Williams-Ross Purple Pantry.
This is a professional position with responsibilities having a direct impact on the quality of students' educational experiences and interaction with their peers, as well as the campus community at large. In the performance of duties, this position uses
knowledge of student development, leadership education, and community engagement. Problem-solving skills, independent decision-making, and critical thinking skills are also used. This position may require the ability/willingness to work nights and weekends as needed. |

Master's degree or bachelor's degree with two years related experience required. |
