Your Opportunity as an Area Leader

Leverage your leadership skills to drive business results while supporting our sandwich making technicians within our Longmont facility, where we make some of the most beloved Smucker products, Uncrustables! Location: 2900 Peak Ave, Longmont, CO 80504 (Uncrustables Manufacturing Plant)

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site. Day Shift. Flexibility required. Willingness to work off shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays) and flow to the work as needed

In this Role You Will:

  • Lead sandwich making line and technicians to deliver key business results and drive overall area improvements.

  • Engage and motivate team in meeting safety, quality, production, and cost targets.

  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators are established for teams, oversee progress, and indicate where gaps exist to proactively create performance plans.

  • Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant.

  • Leverage High-Performance Organizational principles to develop leadership skills in individuals and the teams.

  • Partner with Department Manager in developing and delivering business master plan, including key technical and organizational projects.

  • Address gaps in line/area performance through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture.

  • Ensure department issues are driven to root cause and eliminated.

  • Understand company policies and procedures and apply consistently across your teams; administer any necessary discipline.

  • Oversee training and qualification programs for designated line/area; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards

  • Translate complex information into easily understandable messages to facilitate clear communication and expectations.

  • Embrace change and build team buy-in to new initiatives and improvements.

  • Manage time and attendance for designated line/area (including payroll approval).

  • Provide performance-based feedback to team leaders and technicians, including annual Performance Appraisals.

What We are Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years of manufacturing operational experience

  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Prior people management experience in a high-performance work environment

  • Ability to effectively engage on the plant floor

  • Decisive, proactive, and strategic in decision making

  • Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills

  • Effectively works across organization boundaries and with diverse teams

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to learn new skills/technologies quickly

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications

Other information about the role:

  • Colorado Specific Salary Range - $93,500 - $135,300

  • This role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan bonus

Work Environment: This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be high.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
