9:00 am - 6:00 pm; Monday - Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required in conjunction with facility/programming needs.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Coordinator of Outreach & Engagement is an essential member of the UREC team, providing direct supervision of strategic communications, marketing initiatives, and campus engagement efforts to elevate awareness and participation in UREC programs and services. The Coordinator ensures that all outreach and engagement strategies align with departmental goals, uphold UREC's mission, and contribute to a dynamic, student-centered experience.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Duties
The Coordinator of Outreach & Engagement is an essential member of the UREC team, providing direct supervision of strategic communications, marketing initiatives, and campus engagement efforts to elevate awareness and participation in UREC programs and services. The Coordinator ensures that all outreach and engagement strategies align with departmental goals, uphold UREC's mission, and contribute to a dynamic, student-centered experience.

The Coordinator of Outreach & Engagement provides supervision and administrative oversight for University Recreation's outreach, marketing, and engagement efforts. This role supports the promotion and visibility of UREC programs and services by managing strategic communications, supervising creative student staff, and overseeing content development for web and social media platforms.
Other Work Responsibilities
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Experience in design, communications, outreach, social media management, or student development
  • Supervisory experience with student staff, graduate assistants, or part-time staff
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva
  • Strong project management skills and experience with project management platforms (Trello, Asana, Monday.com, or similar)
  • Experience operating professional camera equipment and related editing software
  • Previous experience in higher education, recreation, or wellness industries preferred
