Company Overview

We are a leading global Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) serving the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, with approximately $2B in annual revenue and operations across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Backed by private equity and operating in a high-growth environment, the company is scaling globally, expanding manufacturing capabilities, and enhancing financial infrastructure in preparation for future strategic transactions.

Position Summary

The Director of Tax is responsible for managing the Company's global tax strategy, compliance, and provision process. This role is highly strategic, partnering with Finance, Treasury, Legal and regional business teams to support global structuring, M&A activity, and operational scaling, while ensuring compliance in a dynamic regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and build the future optimal tax organization (most likely in a continued co-sourcing model setup) that can successfully operate in a Public Company setting

Ability to proactively lead the necessary steps to transform the tax function from Private Equity to a Public Company Tax department

Lead global tax strategy, focusing on tax optimization to lower the effective tax rate and improve cash flow

Manage third party advisors preparing global income tax compliance including US and international filings

Lead quarterly and annual global tax provision leveraging third party advisors, ASC 740 tax disclosures and effective tax rate forecasting

Establish, document and manage transfer pricing policies for global services, intellectual property and shared resources

Support senior leadership, advising on tax implications of international expansion, M&A, legal entity structuring, and cross-border transactions

Support tax due diligence and integration strategy for M&A transactions

Assess process, technology requirements to ensure appropriate internal control procedures and drive SOX readiness

Manage the relationship with external auditors for all global Tax related audit and external reporting requirements

Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, and Operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).

CPA required; MST or JD preferred.

12+ years of progressive tax experience including multinational environment.

Experience in life sciences, manufacturing, or CDMO environment preferred.

Experience in private equity-backed or pre-IPO environment is a plus.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. international tax rules (GILTI, FDII, Subpart F).

Experience with transfer pricing frameworks and global indirect tax exposure.

Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE preferred) and tax provision tools.
