School of Medicine Chief Analytics Officer

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent plus 12 years of professional experience to include 5 years of supervisory experience

• Experience in an academic medical center, School of Medicine, or health professions education environment.
• Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards and the data reporting obligations of U.S. allopathic medical schools.
• Experience working within University System of Georgia (USG) or similar public university governance structures.
• Prior experience collaborating with institutional research, compliance, or enterprise IT offices in a research university setting.
• Proficiency with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), institutional research databases, and EHR data systems.

• Manage the school's end-to-end data infrastructure, including data warehouses, systems integrations, and analytics platforms.
• Partner with UGA's Enterprise IT Services (EITS) to ensure UGA SOM's infrastructure needs are represented and resourced within university-wide systems.
• Oversee, implementation, and lifecycle management of data and IT systems serving the medical school.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and applicable University System of Georgia (USG) data security and privacy standards.
• Work with SOM Procurement and IT to manage related vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements for data and technology.

• Define and execute a multi-year data and analytics strategy aligned with UGA SOM's academic, research, and institutional objectives.
• Lead the development and enforcement of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and stewardship models across the school.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across clinical, educational, administrative, and research domains.
• Serve as the primary liaison to UGA's Office of Institutional Research (OIR) to align school-level data reporting with university-wide frameworks.
• Advise the Dean and executive leadership on data strategy, performance metrics, and evidence-based decision-making.

• Directly supervise and mentor UGA SOM's Data Architect and Data Visualization Expert, fostering a high-performing internal data team.
• Build a culture of data literacy, continuous improvement, and evidence-informed practice across all SOM departments.
• Partner with UGA SOM leadership to ensure data infrastructure supports accreditation, outcomes monitoring, and programmatic evaluation.
• Collaborate with the Finance and Operations team to integrate data analytics into budget modeling, resource planning, and operational efficiency initiatives.

• Direct the development and delivery of dashboards, reports, and analytics tools that support decision-making by SOM leadership, faculty, and staff.
• Build and maintain reporting infrastructure to support LCME accreditation readiness, including data required for annual medical school questionnaires, self-study documentation, and continuous quality improvement.
• Support student outcomes analytics, including admissions funnel analysis, academic performance tracking, board examination trends, and residency placement data.
• Provide analytics to support faculty recruitment, retention, productivity, and performance evaluation.

• Serve as UGA SOM's primary representative in university-wide data and IT governance forums and working groups.
• Build and maintain active partnerships with UGA's Office of Institutional Research (OIR), Enterprise IT Services (EITS), Office of Research, Office of Legal Affairs, and relevant compliance offices.
• Coordinate with UGA's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and senior technology leadership to ensure alignment of school-level IT strategy with university infrastructure plans.
• Engage with clinical affiliate partners and health system stakeholders on data-sharing agreements, interoperability, and integrated analytics.
• Represent UGA SOM data interests in discussions with peer institutions, AAMC, and other national higher education or health professions education networks.
• Collaborate with university data stewards.

• Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for the Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and other senior leaders.
• Ensure that UGA SOM's IT and data priorities are consistently surfaced and reflected in the school's strategic planning, budget requests, and policy decisions.
• Support institutional responses to USG, AAMC, LCME, and other regulatory or accrediting bodies with timely and accurate data.
• Advise on the data implications of major institutional decisions, including new program development, clinical affiliate agreements, and faculty governance changes.

• Lead complex, cross-functional data and IT projects from initiation through delivery, applying structured project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP-aligned frameworks).
• Develop and maintain project portfolios, timelines, resource plans, and stakeholder communications for all major data initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for data-related project outcomes, managing competing priorities across a dynamic medical school environment.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, analytics tools, and AI applications for potential adoption within UGA SOM.
