Description

The Manager of Corporate Safety are responsible for implementing incident reduction strategy, work with Ellwood companies to reduce incidents, develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities



  • Implement corporate wide strategic plan to reduce injuries across Ellwood Business Units
  • Work with Facility Safety personnel and develop proactive KPA's for the company.
  • Review corporate safety trends and work with Management teams to determine best method for program management.


Duteies/Responsibilities



  • Help Ellwood management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining Ellwood corporate software systems.
  • Conduct Safety audits to maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws and codes. (VPP Program Strategy across the company)
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting across Ellwood BU's.
  • Maintain tracking and investigation of serious injury and near hit team.
  • Provides technical and administrative support to the safety Management teams.
  • Work with VP of EHS and Divisions to implement and maintain SafeStart Program.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Conducts employee training on applicable safety and health standards.
  • Track and share best practices in safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Perform training at Ellwood Companies (OSHA 10, LOTO, SIF etc.)
  • Lead safety inspections and audits to assess compliance with safety regulations.
  • Responsible for reviewing trends at Ellwood and inform our team of best practices from our industry.
  • Maintain and distribute monthly EHS reports across Ellwood companies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities



  • Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Must have the ability to manage data across different software and develop up to date KPA's
  • Must be a forward thinker and be able to work strategically with our facilities to implement best Safety Practices like VPP, Management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to find cutting edge training programs and lead implementation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS Software.
  • Must be able to work with multiple companies and collaborate with management and hourly safety teams effectively.
  • Travel up to 30%


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required master's degree preferred.
  • At least 4 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment preferred.
