Senior Maintenance Technician

Classification: Non-Exempt

Hourly Base Pay: $34.00 to $37.00

The Senior Maintenance Technician performs non-specialized maintenance of the facility and its equipment, ensures compliance with applicable regulations and maintenance policies, and and back-up to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role partners with plant personnel to identify, repair, and improve equipment performance, and informally leads the maintenance team through coaching and hands-on demonstration. We measure success through the safe, cost-effective operation of the facility and equipment, and we operate our wastewater systems and power plant equipment.

You Will:



  • Informally lead the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and coaching
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Production Management, and Regional Engineering support to resolve equipment issues
  • Manage the computer-based Preventative Maintenance Program, including repair actions and urgent response to equipment failures
  • Perform advanced hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostics, with a focus on automation and controls
  • Maintain operational, safety, and environmental compliance, including wastewater compliance, safety training logs, and computerized maintenance records
  • Implement preventative maintenance on equipment and the facility
  • Coach other members of the maintenance team through hands-on demonstration


What You Bring:



  • High school or equivalent; additional training in the following area(s) preferred (plumbing, electrical, steam, controls, PLC, welding, and mechanical systems)
  • Work Experience Requirements: 7+ years industrial maintenance
  • Specific Skills and Competencies: Electric schematics, low voltage troubleshooting, controls, steam/boiler operation, hydraulics, pneumatics, safety compliance (e.g. LOTO, hot work, confined space)
  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc: Boiler operator license (some states), computerized preventative maintenance systems
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding or other safety violations.


Work Environment and Requirements:



  • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and working in confined spaces.
  • Reaching overhead and working at heights using ladders or lifts (15 feet or more)
  • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs. and pushing or pulling carts up to 500 lbs.
  • Operating forklifts and other industrial equipment. Reading, writing, speaking, and hearing.
  • Work performed in an industrial laundry facility, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to large machinery, moving equipment, noise, heat, humidity, lint, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • May involve use of respirators, operation of industrial equipment, and entry into confined spaces following safety procedures.
  • Occasional local travel for parts procurement or training.
