Welcome to Parker Industrial Process Filtration

At Parker's Industrial Process Filtration Division, we collaborate with our customers to offer filtration solutions for complex contaminant management issues. Our aim is to enhance product quality and safeguard critical equipment against maintenance issues and downtime.

The Industrial Process Filtration Division directly supports North America. In addition, IPF works with our global Parker Hannifin regional entities to leverage IPF products across the globe.

Position Summary

Reviews purchase requisitions, prepares purchase orders, and forwards for approval. Contacts vendors to expedite deliveries, negotiate prices, and effect the return of rejected shipments. Becomes familiar with subsidiary material requirements and applicable legislation pertaining to purchasing. Completes paperwork as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Processes material requisitions, completes purchase orders, and forwards to supervisor for approval following departmental procedures.
  • Expedites purchase orders, securing required delivery dates and quantities.
  • Interviews vendors and investigates sources of supply consistent with lowest cost and acceptable quality standards.
  • Maintains good relationships with all vendor companies and their representatives.
  • Negotiates with appropriate vendors for the return and/or replacement of rejected materials.
  • Orders raw materials and filters as requested by Production Control department.
  • Keeps Director - Purchasing informed of new materials and supplies which may be applicable to subsidiary operations. Also informs of conditions in vendors plants which might adversely affect the cost or availability of materials.
  • Becomes familiar with the material usage requirements for subsidiary operations. Assures that vendors are advised of pertinent information.
  • Becomes familiar with applicable federal and state regulations, federal priority regulations, and other rules affecting purchases. Properly applies such information in performance of job responsibilities.
  • Completes paperwork as required including price change report, debit memos, and freight claim forms.
  • Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain processes and IT systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PBI.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle is a plus.
