Technician - Assembly/Test
Overview:
This position is responsible for producing a wide variety of highly intricate assemblies for use in production of guidance systems. Also produces prototype parts for engineering development and/or customer shipment as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Clean and assemble metal parts for brazing operations.
* Machine and polish step seal surfaces using a manual lathe.
* Microscopically Inspect parts for FOD or defects.
* Maintain a clean and orderly area to assist in workflow.
Required Skills:
* Ability to operate several types of machine tools and perform related hand and bench operations.
* Ability to plan operations and perform complicated set-ups for self and others
* Recommend changes in methods or designs based upon knowledge of metals and metal processing
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Able to maintain records, work status and supply inventory
* Participate in team continuous improvement activities
* Enter data in inventory control system
* Cross train within the department on other various operations as required
* Training and documentation of other associates in the department to add production capabilities
* Willingness to learn lathe work is a plus
* Willingness to learn soldering is a plus
Required Experience:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Experience in hands on assembly and mechanical experience testing.
* Able to follow operations sheets for detailed work instructions.
* Must be a US Citizen.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $22.00 - $36.00 hourly. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, and internal consistency.
