Chatham Financial
United States, Pennsylvania, Kennett Square
Jun 25, 2026

Job Description:

Overview:

We don't simply hire employees. We invest in them. When you work at Chatham, we empower you - offering professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career, no matter if you've been here for five months or 15 years. Chatham has worked hard to create a distinct work environment that values people, teamwork, integrity, and client service. You will have immediate opportunities to partner with talented subject matter experts, work on complex projects, and contribute to the value Chatham delivers every day.

Job Summary:

We are seeking to strengthen our Financial Risk Advisory team with a Regulatory and Documentation Advisory Associate based in our Kennett Square office. This role will focus on analyzing global derivatives regulations and related documentation, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance for both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Working at the intersection of regulatory advisory and operations, the successful candidate will develop expertise in derivatives market regulation, assess the impact of regulatory developments, and help clients navigate evolving compliance and documentation requirements. The role reports to the Regulatory and Documentation Advisory team and offers the opportunity to collaborate across multiple functions to deliver thoughtful, client-focused solutions in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Advisory:

  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on global derivatives regulation and compliance obligations, counterparty classifications, and jurisdictional scoping, focusing on Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and UK EMIR rules
  • Review bank regulatory documentation for Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and other global derivatives regulation and facilitate accurate completion on behalf of clients and internal deal teams
  • Understand and review derivative trade documentation, comparing against Chatham transaction records, for accuracy, included terms, and regulatory compliance information
  • Develop and maintain expertise on S&P Counterparty Manager and ISDA Protocols and protocol adherence
  • Identify and effectively communicate industry and regulatory developments, interpretation, and trends, both internally and externally
  • Participate in industry working groups, such as those provided by ISDA and DTCC, to understand market practices and evolving expectations for derivatives regulatory compliance

Regulatory Operations:

  • Help coordinate completion and delivery of reoccurring compliance reports for clients
  • Provide guidance to internal teams and clients on regulatory perspectives and impacts related to regulatory operations, such as regulatory reporting, portfolio reconciliation, and trade repository onboarding
  • Manage outstanding documentation, updates, and reminders on regulatory advisory issues impacting operations or client reporting
  • Effectively collaborate with Technology/Product and Regulatory Operations teams, and other Chatham teams, to help translate regulatory requirements into technical requirements for new product builds, rule rewrites, and process improvement

The role may also include opportunities to contribute to the team in other capacities as interests and team needs align.

Your impact:

Our team works in partnership with Chatham's advisory teams and clients to help them efficiently navigate the operational and regulatory compliance aspects of a transaction. We strive to continually improve the workflows we are responsible for and have the chance to do so by implementing process changes and/or leveraging supporting technology. Team members play a crucial role in these process improvements and serve as subject matter experts, providing regular training and resources for all Chatham teams.

Contributors to your success:

  • A legal degree is strongly preferred; 2+ years of experience working in legal services, legal operations, or contract review may be beneficial but is not required
  • Strong interest in operations, cross-functional work, and project and process management; interest in automation, legal technology, and AI is preferred
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Ability to multitask and independently prioritize workload
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

We seek individuals who will thrive in our culture and contribute meaningfully to our clients, colleagues, and business objectives. Many team members join Chatham without prior derivatives experience; therefore, we provide comprehensive training through a combination of structured learning programs, hands-on experience, and mentorship opportunities. We value individuals who demonstrate initiative, curiosity, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Chatham invests significantly in employee development and seeks team members who are excited to build their skills, collaborate with others, and contribute to our success over time.
