This position is one of five reporting to the Shipping Supervisor. The shipping coordinator executes the computer, technical and documentation related aspects of global distribution. This role provides direct daily support to Material Handling operations and serves as a critical interface between AIEA customer support, Logistics, and the end customer.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Coordinate domestic and international shipments and prepare necessary transportation documentation according to established policies and procedures.
* Organize and coordinate work to meet service objectives of the shipping departments.
* Utilize SAP and other supporting computer software programs to prepare orders and transportation documents.
* Interface with third party logistics providers, transportation providers, brokers, and routing agents.
* Develop understanding of hazardous materials transportation compliance as related to ground, international air, and international vessel.
* Develop understanding of Global Trade compliance policy, international commercial terms (INCO) and freight billing terminology.

Qualifications

WORK EXPERIENCE
PREFERRED
* Transportation, warehousing, distribution services, logistics or transportation compliance.

EDUCATION
REQUIRED
* High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED
* Associates or Bachelors' degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related discipline.

CERTIFICATIONS
PREFERRED
* Current multi-modal hazardous materials compliance training certification from an accredited training institution.
