This role represents the intermediate stage within the Field Operations Job Family and is built to give you more challenging assignments that expand your knowledge of field operations tasks, methods, and practices. You will establish a strong technical base, operate more independently, and actively help ensure our pipeline infrastructure remains safe, compliant, and reliable.

What You Will Do:

  • Respond to equipment malfunctions, physical damage, fire, vandalism, and other threats to accurately handle emergency situations and safeguard life and property, applying all relevant procedures.

  • Implement lockout/tagout procedures related to your job functions to ensure personnel safety. Work safely and responsibly while participating in safety programs.

  • Perform work following company policies and procedures and external regulations from PHMSA and the EPA. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

  • Complete accurate and complete reports, apply proper procedures for ordering, receiving, and transferring materials, perform physical inventory, and review and interpret drawings, sketches, and as-builts.

  • Collaborate with Area and Region personnel to recommend spare parts levels, assist in work planning, and contribute budget-related information consistent with the annual budgeting process.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-2 years of directly relevant training and experience.

  • A valid Driver's License.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, shifts, be on call and on standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring heavy physical exertion in sometimes extreme weather conditions.

  • Currently lives in or is open to moving within 30 miles of the designated reporting location.

Preferred:

  • Practical understanding of procedures involved in maintaining and repairing pipelines and operational equipment.

  • Computer proficient with practical experience in Excel and Word.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honesty, and openness are valued.

  • Creative problem-solver who operates within defined SOPs and is ready to accept responsibility and take initiative to address challenges.

Working Conditions

  • This role is primarily field-oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings, and documentation of required tasks dictated by the Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies.

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on-call & standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

  • You will undergo various background screenings that includesbut isnot limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), and hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information; understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions; organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology; organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis; make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area; understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines; complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports; and communicate with individuals via telephone.
