Associate Buyer

Position
The Associate Buyer plays a key role in supporting the purchasing team by assisting in product selection, supplier negotiations, inventory management, and sales analysis. This position ensures that the right products are available at the right time and price to meet customer demand and company objectives. The Associate Buyer works closely with vendors, internal teams, and senior buyers to execute buying strategies and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing and selecting merchandise that aligns with company goals and market trends.
- Work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper stock replenishment.
- Analyze sales data and customer trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and ensure accuracy in product details and pricing.
- Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to execute promotional plans.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and explore new supplier opportunities.
- Support the resolution of supply chain issues, including delays, quality concerns, and discrepancies.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive analysis, and emerging product innovations.
- Assist in administrative duties related to purchasing, such as maintaining records, reports, and budgets.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with ERP or procurement software is a plus.
- Passion for retail, consumer trends, and product innovation.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or proven years of relevant experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in buying, purchasing, or merchandising preferred.
