Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to support the design, development, production, and continuous improvement of advanced RF products and systems supporting Department of Defense (DoD) applications. This role will be responsible for leading mechanical design efforts, generating engineering documentation, supporting production activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, experience with CAD software, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Serve as the lead Mechanical Engineer on assigned programs, ensuring designs and product performance meet customer requirements and specifications.
* Apply mechanical engineering principles to develop new product designs and enhance existing products.
* Generate and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, technical data packages, and compliance matrices.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and validate designs against customer and regulatory requirements.
* Support product development activities from concept through production.
* Participate in design reviews and present technical information to internal stakeholders and customers.
* Lead or support root cause investigations related to product failures, manufacturing issues, and customer returns.
* Develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing support solutions to improve production efficiency.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, manufacturability, and process optimization.
* Provide technical guidance and leadership for purchased components and assemblies throughout development and production.
* Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure project milestones, schedules, and deliverables are achieved.
* Support troubleshooting activities and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability.
* Maintain compliance with company quality management systems and engineering processes.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
* 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or technology environment.
* Experience using CAD software for mechanical design and development.
* Ability to create, interpret, and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, fatigue analysis, and mechanics of materials.
* Knowledge of manufacturing methods and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting RF products and systems, including power amplifiers, RF filters, low-noise amplifiers, upconverters, and downconverters.
* Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and CAD/CAE tools.
* Knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming and applications.
* Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs or military-related projects.
* Familiarity with quality management systems and engineering change processes.
* Experience leading design reviews and cross-functional engineering efforts.
* Demonstrated success driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
