Overview

This position is responsible for the overall performance, staffing, and supervision of the Sales Accounting Department. Additionally, this position is responsible for the accurate and timely sales information used to generate sales ledger and general ledger for the accounting department each month. It requires communication and coordination with other departments to resolve problems and process sales information.


Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Answer and research phone calls from stores, customers, and other departments.
  • Review and correct sales information to generate monthly sales ledger.
  • Monitor and correct month end entries for general ledger.
  • Aid and assist year end auditor in processing sales information.
  • Review and evaluate personnel issues.
  • Set up new bank accounts and make necessary changes to existing accounts.
  • Coordinate sales information with MIS, legal, accounting, A/R, and auditing departments.
  • Review and pay business licenses for stores.
  • Schedule store assignments, workload, vacations, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
The incumbent is located in a busy office area and is faced with constant interruptions on a regular basis.

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches. Rarely, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouch or crawl.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, 40+ hours per week.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Required Education and Experience
The minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or at least 2 years of specific experience and/or training related to the essential functions of the job; or equivalent combination of education and training.
