Description

Location: Chesapeake, VA - Indian Creek Correctional Center

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-time

Pay rate: $28.85-$30.29/hour

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for:



  • Providing support and expertise with the Human Resources Information System and all Human Resources functions
  • Developing, maintaining and generating reports, developing and maintaining queries and reports for the organization and for state and federal regulatory requirements, benefits, and administrative functions
  • Managing multiple projects independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals, projects and deadlines
  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and is a team player with the capability to learn functionality of a variety of databases
  • Assisting with fringe benefit organization and processing as directed
  • Having a high level of computer competency and efficiency
  • Assisting with filing, and other administrative tasks when needed

Qualifications

Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of self-motivation.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and human resources practices preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent administrative decisions within established guidelines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization.
  • Valid driver's license required.
